'93 Bonnie Stalling Problem Solved
Like many other readers of this forum I have been having stalling problems with my Bonneville. The only trouble code I got was for a TPS but the TPS checked out good. I found a web page http://wellsmfgcorp.com/counterpoint...erpoint3_4.pdf which discribes how to perform some simple electrical checks on your EGR valve. I checked out my EGR and found that one of the three selonoids was bad even though I never got any trouble codes for the EGR valve. I replaced the EGR and now my car is running like new. The EGR was fairly expensive but at least my car has stopped stalling.

Re: '93 Bonnie Stalling Problem Solved
Indeed EGR valve is a very common problem that shows in a variety of ways. In my case, I have an EGR code with the CEL that comes ON and OFF all the time, but in fact one of the 3 solenoids is inoperative, so this section stays closed...hence no operational problems, but it detects the valve does not open when it asks for it (senses abnormal voltage at solenoid feed) and gives a code and CEL. ANd when the ECM does not ask for that section of the EGR valve, then it sees all OK and shuts off the light....funny.
WHenever it starts coughing, I'll look at E-bay....
