Re: quick FIRE question on tire pressure? anyone?
it tells you the recommended psi on the side of the tire; 40psi sounds normal.

Re: quick FIRE question on tire pressure? anyone?
i belive thats max psi. the pressure in ur tires depends only on ur preference if u think ur car handles better at 30 psi then put it ther it doesnt really matter.

Re: quick FIRE question on tire pressure? anyone?
I am running 225/45/ZR17 on my RSX-s and run 35 front and 33 rear. Pressures should remain close to the recommendations on the door post even with a larger tire. The PSI is still the same even with a larger cubic space to fill. You won't experience the harse ride on lower profile tires if you don't inflate to the maximum pressure stated on the side of the tire. The pressure listed is the MAXIMUM for the tire not the recommended pressure.

n it do matter...if I remember correctly from my readings..runnin the incorrect car maker's tire press, will cause premature wear on your tire's... don't yall remember that from shop class? my tire's is 205/40 17's but i'm pretty sho that 40 in that spec DOES NOT relate to tire pressure... n guy IT don't say on the side of my door, i llooked...its in the manual but i don't have access to it right now...thats WHY i'm posting.... let me know yall thanks oNe

Re: quick FIRE question on tire pressure? anyone?
recomended pressure is in the glove box. stock 92-95 civic dx coupe is 32 psi. 32 psi is recomended by honda for street use. u can run a higher tire pressure if u want to. i personaly run anywhere b/e 35-38 on the street

Re: quick FIRE question on tire pressure? anyone?
Man where do you guys get your informaton from. Most of you are all WRONG.
The pressures your manufacturer recommends is only for stock wheels and tires. When you upgrade it is recommended you up the tire pressure too. You also increase tire pressure to protect your rims from potholes and other road hazards. When I had 205/40x17" tires on my Civics I ran 40-42psi front and rear. When I ran lower pressures (30-35psi) I was bending my wheels. Also going with MAX pressure is not correct either. That is the highest pressure you should go with, anything higher and you can blow a tire out when driving on the highway for long periods of time. Remember tires rolling on the ground creates friction and friction creates heat, and heat expands things as they heat up. So if your MAX pressure is 45psi and you pump it up to that, then drive on the highway for 60 miles at 70mph your air pressures can jump up to 50-55psi.

i have looked on my tires..they are kuhmo ecstas supra 712's...ON the tire it specificaly say to run tires at automobile manufacture's recommendations.... thats why i was askin what i thought was a simple nip in the bud question....i didn't know it was debatable... if you think bout it..i was really askin what honda says to run the tires on a civic ex sdn 2000... i read it in the manual once..but i don't have the manual... thank you all for your tiime! oNe

I wouldn't try to argue with a man who drives his car the way it was meant to be driven and is quite involved in the sport.

I've been racing Hondas since 1996/97. Been an instructor since 2001. So I know my stuff (not to brag). I've wasted money on stupid things and learned from broken wheels. I've had 18x7" wheels back in 1998 when people thought a year before 17s would be the largest you could fit on a Civic. And even in 1997 when I had 17s people thought 15s were the largest.

I just don't like it when these newbie know-it-alls come on and disrespect the members who actually know what they are talking about.
