Looking to Buy 1st - Advice
Hey all,
I'm looking to buy our first minivan and I'm pulled towards the Odyssey (style, options, and well... it's a Honda!). It's gonna be a used one (hopefully under 50k miles) but I don't know what to look out for (specific problems w/ specific years). Any advice would be greatly appreciated. TIA!

The biggest problems are power sliding door issues(usually fixed under warranty early on) and automatic transmission problems. I would look for something still under Honda's ext. warranty on the trans(7yrs/100K)

I just purchased a 2003 Honda EXL and love it. The van had 32k miles on it and because it was a certified pre-owned Honda the warranty was as follows:
Remainder of the factory warranty - 4k 12 months/12,000 miles 7years / 100,000 mile powertrain warranty. I believe this applies to all pre-owned Hondas.

Hi,
I'm new to these forums so I hope I'm in the right place to get some advice. I'm also looking to buy first minivan. I have to decide between a low milage 2001 Town and country and a high mileage 1999 Odyssey. Has anyone run into driver’s seat fire problems on Canadian market 1999 Odysseys like the driver’s seat fire on VIN 2HKRL1866XH003866? And what about any transmission problems? I intend to keep the car for a long, long time and while reliability is really important to me, so is comfort and utility for an adult and 4 children. I appreciate any help.
