oil pressure test

I have an 89 jeep wrangler 6 cyl. I recently replaced the thermostat and housing the water pump and all hosesd. My engine is still running hot. The oil pressure guage is out. Although i have no noise from the engine while running when I shut it(after 10 15 minutes of run tim) off the engine tinks as if she ran for 500 miles in the heat. I bought guage and fittings to hook straight to the engine to check the pressure but I have no idea where to hook it to. My engine is possibly from a 92. Don,t know if the sensors are located in diff places for the two years. please help.
