rear-end question

I have a 87 s-10 im planning on dumping a 350 into. im going to put a TH350 tranny behind it, and now the only problem is the rearend. the guy helping me build the truck said the stock reaerend would rip apart. so could i take a rearend off a 80's camaro and would it work? also, im going to have to get a custom driveshaft made for it, right? thajnks in advance for the help

Re: rear-end question

depends on what level of performance that 350 is putting out. the 7.5in ten bolt rear will handle a 350 just fine, the ten bolt in the S10 is the same as the one in the camaro. And in some cases the S10's came with the 8.5in ten bolt that would definatly handle the power. If you do have the 7.5in ten bolt, and are looking to make around 400hp, you can build the rear to take it. but before i start rambling, fill me in,

what rear do you have now?

how much hp are you planning to put down when alll is said and done?
