3k Vr4 Help

Hi
I got a 93 3kvr4 that when i start after few sec it dies with a clicking sound that comes like from the radio or dash area while is dying, check engine light goes on then stops. Sometimes i can let it start and last longer but it does the same thing pretty often, then if you try to start after this it just won't do anything like dead with lights on. Any ideas where the clicking sound comes from and why ?
thanks for all your help.

Chris.

Re: 3k Vr4 Help

Check the connections on your battery and your cables make sure they are tight, clean, etc. Sounds like something is shorting. I think at least. Any idea on the voltage your battery has? Is it showing 14volts? Also if you get the car to your local autozone, often they will check out your power supply (battery, alternator, starter) for free.

Your 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 is the 92nd out of the 315 that were made that year. Only 21 of which are exactly identical.

Re: 3k Vr4 Help

i had the same problem, and i was actually stuck at best buy in the parking lot. as igovert said its your battery. i dont know what that clicking is, i had it too, but it sound like it came from the fuse box under the hood. just keep playing with your connection, you should get it

Re: 3k Vr4 Help

he has a 93... and unless Autozone can pull OBD1 codes than he has to goto a dealer. Or do 93's have a hybrid?

Re: 3k Vr4 Help

91-93 is obd1, 94-95 is "hybrid" basicly not yet obd2 but with an obd2 connector, and 96+ is obd2
