Need Alignment every other week!

I have an '03 extended cab. I needed an alignment within the 1st year of owning the truck (at about the 10K mark). Now I have 17K miles and I need another. Why? The truck has never seen off road duty. I travel on mostly well paved roads. Everything up front seems tight. I had a Jeep Grand Cherokee with AWD for 7 years and it never needed an alignment.

What gives? Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

Re: Need Alignment every other week!

Hi, Ussually these trucks are set at a different spec from the factory then what our hunter machine wants. The caster angle is always set negative.Should only have to be set once in a great while.Maybe it wasnt set perfectly the first time.If its done correct it should last!

Re: Need Alignment every other week!

I always ask the alignment guys when I go for a rotate & balance if they put the drivers weight in the drivers seat. They always look at me like I stepped off a UFO. Long time ago my shop teacher in High School impressed to me that if the vehicle is aligned shouldn't it be aligned like it is when it is driven? 225#'s in my sportside makes a difference to the attitude of my truck.

Re: Need Alignment every other week!

Check the length of threads on the eccentric bolts. Sometimes they will run out of threads and appear tight when they are really aren't. I know, sounds crazy, but happened on '99. It kept coming loose and losing alignment because the bolts were tight, but they actually just ran out of threads before they torqued down fully.
