Purchase 2000 Accord LX

http://denver.craigslist.org/car/67514178.html
I am looking to purchase this car. I am an original owner of a Honda Civic (220k miles). Are there any known issues with the 2000 Accord LX?
Next question is price.
The 2 Front Struts are lifetime warranty from Brakesplus, but they are not transferable. Rear tires will need to be replaced. Small tear in the roof liner. Small dents in doors. He is asking $9900, the price of a showroom quality car. I was thinking $8500. Is that to low?

Thank you for your time.

that price he's asking for is to much for the condition you describe. he must of selected 'excellent condition' when he got an estimate off of kelly blue book. if you go to kbb.com, you can put in the vehicles info...then when it asks for condition...click 'rate it'...that will let you go into detail w/ condition of engine, body, interior, etc. that will give you a better idea what it's worth. he has probably set it to that price to allow people to haggle him down to the actual value of the car.

Too much I went to Kbb.com and found that the value of the car in perfect condition is $9200. You should print it out and bring that to him and offer of about $8000.

Yeah, the asking price is a little high. But that's a smart way to sell something. He may really want 12-1500 less but now he has room to negotiate. You never make the asking price the amount you really want. You always go higher.
