Missing wires at ECM. Help!!!

Hello, I have had an intermittent code 44 popping up after the truck warms up. Its a 1982 2.8L Cal Emissions. It stays on for like 30 seconds and goes away. Code is O2 Sensor reads Lean. I replaced O2 sensor, no change. Haynes says check ECM wiring connections especially at terminals 8 and 15, so i pulled the ECM and i am missing wires at exactly those terminals. Coincidence? I think not. Is this my problem, that the ECM is not getting any info from the O2 sensor? Does anyone know what color wires i need to be looking for? What steps should i do to find these boys. Or am i completely off and there are supposed to be no wires there? any help appreciated, this is driving me crazy. damn wiring.
