New here saying Hi
Just signed up today and thought I would say hi. I just got my first silverado this past weekend, a hugh upgrade from the 96 blazer I was driving. it is a 2003 2500HD. it has the vortec 6000 V8 engine, and is already lifted. I bought it lifted and I am not sure how much lift it has, I think it is 6 inches but I am not sure. here is a pic, but I don't know how to put it in the post, just how to link it.

Nice, love the lifted 2500's. Do you plan on leaving it like it is, or upgrading it further more?

Re: New here saying Hi
I am not sure if I am going to lift it more, but I do have some more things I would like to do with it.

Truck looks great. They're meaty things aren't they? They run good with the 6.0/4.10 combo. I just got a green '02 HD ext cab and am trying for the same look. Are the tires 285's? Please let me know when you figure out what style lift is in the front. Is it actually a kit or are the bars just cranked? |

Re: New here saying Hi
I'll check the tires when I get it back, but I believe they are 285/75/16's. The lift I know nothing about, the previous owner put it on and then traded it in to the dealership where I bought it at. How could I find out what type of lift it is and how much it is lifted?

Your truck may just have the bars cranked. I don't see where the torsion bar crossmember has been dropped. For fun, I turned my torsion bar bolts in 7 turns at lunch to see how it would look. It came close to leveling the truck right out and looks much better. There is 40" between the ground and the fender lip at the hub centerline in front and 41 1/4" in the rear with 265's. I drove it and it still drives nice. (for an HD) Now it off for an alignment and hopefully some Yokohama 285's in the near future. (anyone interested in the new 265's and chrome wheels?) |

Re: New here saying Hi
If that truck has a 6" lift, that is the shortest 6" I've ever seen. The HD come sitting a little taller from the factory and the previous owner may have cranked the torsion bars, but i doubt that there is a lift on that truck.
