Unhappy Is it possible to want something this much???

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...sPageName=WDVW

Hey..for as long as I can remember Ive wanted an 2g GSX and now that I have the money its getting really tempting to realize that dream. Yet I dont want to spend all of the money just to be eaten up by the eclipse killer (aka crankwalk) Now ive only heard a little about it, but i hear about it all the time. how common is crankwalk among the 2gs? Is it just exaggerated? If I kept up regular matinence do I still have a strong chance of getting it? What are some things I can do to prevent crankwalk, and is it really worth it? Are there any other reliabilty issues with the eclipses worth worrying about?

Thanks a lot, This is deffinantley the car I want, I dont think anything compares to it in looks, and I really dont want another FWD car again so a GSX is the only one that will do. But I guess if this doesnt work out Im gonna have to go for a wrx...

Re: Is it possible to want something this much???

If crankwalk were so common and was such a problem, then nobody would buy these cars now would they? Crankwalk can happen to ANY car. It just so happens that the 2g turbo DSMs get it a little more often. If the car is taken care of, not beat on, and maintenanced regularly then the car will treat you very well.

It sounds like you really want this car, and for good reason Please do not let crankwalk scare you away from a beauty like that. Run a carfax, check the vehicle background, etc. If it all checks out then I definitely say go for it! That GSX is very clean and appears to be kept in very good shape!

Hey thanks a lot. Im sure everyone here feels the same way I do about DSMs. What is a good amount of mileage for say a 95 car? Ive been looking for gsx's with less than 100000 miles. Is that too high of hopes? or should I try and go for even lower. Again thanks

Re: Is it possible to want something this much???

Well I bought my 95 GSX with ~125k miles on it. I made sure that it had been kept up and regularly maintenanced, though, so that was a big deciding factor. I'd say go for anything uner ~130k if it's in good condition, but it's all up to you. I do really like that one that you linked to, though

yeah eclipses are nice, but theres just something about the red ones that puts them above all the rest.
