Hey all, I got a 93 Dodge Shadow converteble with a 2.5L automatic 3 speed. The problem is the serpentine belt squeeks and I can't get it to stop. I have replaced the belt, checked the alternator bearings, the water pump does not leak. I know it's this belt cause, I have taken it off and the squeek stops (and I replaced the other belts too.). Does anybody have any ideas on how to quiet it up. I am at my wits end. I have tried all that I know. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.

Re: 93 Shadow squeeking belt
Yeah it's tight. It does run around a tensioner, but like I said all is tight and running true (as far as I can tell).

Re: 93 Shadow squeeking belt
Parts stores sell spray cans of "Belt Dressing". That's a substance that's a bit tacky and you spray it on the belt and the pulleys. Stops the belt from slipping.

93 Shadow squeeking belt
Thanks all for your responses. I fixed it, it was the rubber bushings in the upper mounting bracket. They were worn out and out of alignment. I replaced both of them and checked to make sure it was all in a straight line ( had to shim one of them ). All is good now. thanks again all.
