A strange problem is occuring with greater frequency day after day. Before I take it into the dealership I thought I would ask the experts - you!!
A few weeks ago I was driving along, and the interior lights flashed briefly, the beeper sounded (the sound the van makes when the door is opened) and the locks re-engaged as I was over 25K/hour. This has started happening more and more often - this morning it happened all the way to the train station from my home and I must have looked really strange to people driving by with my interior lights flashing on and off! Anyway, I think it might be some sort of sensor in the driver side door. Has anyone else had this problem? Is it something I can check / fix myself? Thanks everyone! Sherri |

I had the same problem on my 93 Caravan.
It was the sliding door switch. From the outside, open the door a little bit. At the back of the door (center), there is a small limit switch used to indicate that the door is not closed properly. If I recall properly, the switch is on the van side (as oposed to the door). I simply put a couple of layers of duct tape on the door where the switch makes contact. Solved. |

Hi there - it's a 1994 Grand Caravan. I tried the duct tape and so far, so good! I did have one beep today while driving around, but that's minor. I'm pretty sure, though, that it's the driver side door and not the sliding door. |
