I decided to change the transmission fluid in my newly purchased 2001 Caravan Sport. After removing the pan and letting the oil drain out, I discovered there were no bolt/screws to remove the filter with. How is this removed? I can wiggle it around a bit but I can not find what is holding this in place. I bought a replacement filter before doing this but is doesn't look anything like the one on there so I can't refer to it for figuring out how to remove the current one.
Thanks, Dave |

Re: Caravan Transmission filter removal
The filter snaps on to the bottom of the tranny, no bolts to take out just give it a good pull and it will come off. Make sure the O ring comes off with the filter and the new filter has a new ring on it. (Usually it’s orange color) Good luck

Re: Caravan Transmission filter removal
Hey-
Thanks for the info. I just didn't want to start prying on it if there was some specific way of removing it. |
