More Bang For My Buck
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once she gets going she is a beast but im looking for more torque and boost ya know. i was wondering about adding a chip but i dont know the first thing about them. are chips woth the money? will i notice a difference? please help guys!!

If your just looking to unleash more power from your stock setup, you should get a Power Programmer.Which will hook up to your stock computer and allow you to adjust the ECM's parameters for more HP or better gas mileage depending on which you want at the time. But if your really looking for a major RWHP increase and you have the $$$$,You cant go wrong with a good Turbo Kit.

Re: More Bang For My Buck
For off the line increases, look into an upgraded rear axle ratio and maybe loosening up (slightly) the stall speed on the torque converter. These cars are geared for high speed, not take off power.
