Look on Ebay. I bought a copy of the Ford service CD for less then the Haynes manual. The CD is what they use in the dealer service department.

The Haynes or Chilton book should cover both 2wd and AWD Aerostars. I don't think there is a seperate book for the two models. The only difference is in the drive system, everything else in the vans is the same.

I just bought an 89, so I needed the manual too. I just went to my local AutoZone and picked it up off the rack, it is Haynes #36004 and covers 86-97 2wd models

Hope this helps ya, and I am also gonna search e-bay for that service cd too. There is just to much that Haynes and Chiltons don't seem to cover anymore.

Hi There.
I just looked at those links at the bottom of the page. [email protected] is the email address for a place that looks like it has a Ford Service manual. I recomend spending more money to get the "Ford" manual, rather than the others. The Ford manuals have much more detail in them. Depending on what work you want to do. I'm sure I've seen other web sites list service manuals. Try to get a copy of "Hemmings Motor News" catalogue or go to Hemmings web site and have a look at their advertiers.

The modulator is part of the transmission. It is held there by a metal fork that is bolted to the transmission. The vaccume line is attatched to it. Basically all it does is set shift point as far as i know.
