turbocharged 350?

Alright, I've been doing research on turbos and helping my brother with his turboed mustang. Now I want to turbo my 350. Any ideas or links to good information on this? The primary problem I have right now is finding an exhaust manifold/header. Need boost!

I've decided it's going to be a roots-type supercharger, a paxton blower, or a turbocharger. What are the cost comparisons, power comparisons, etc. of these three major power adders. The block is plenty strong for it, and compression is about 8.7:1. Thanks for the input!

I'd either search, or contact the manufacturers of those products.

The power/torque comparissons will very greatly depending on what brand/manufacturer you go with.

My "power project" is on a budget, so I'd like to keep cost as low as possible. I already have a hybrid T3/T4 turbocharger that would feed the sbc nicely, but my main problem is finding a turbo exhaust manifold or header. I'm not about to pay $600+ for a header someone else made for under $100...
I don't need an intercooler for now. That can always come later. I just want a "simple" turbocharger setup, probably mounted off the left bank.
Maybe I'll try sneaking a little question on turboford.org...

Re: turbocharged 350?

You wont get any of your options on a budget!!I built a blower motor & had about 5000. into modifications to the works !!3000. into blower & carbs alone!!In my opinion if you build a small block with HIGH end parts you WILL have a HIGH end motor that will rape most turbos around!(NO DIMESTORE CRAP PARTS!!!)There are a million little secrets for cutting weight on the rotating assmbly or indexing plugs. These two things alone can give up to 50 ponies!!!Im not sayin turbos are a bad thing, Its just you already have plenty of motor to run fast!

Re: turbocharged 350?

Well, as everyone knows, a tbi 350 IS somewhat limited, especially if you want to stick with the fuel injection. I'm just figuring that all I need for a turbo setup is a header/exhaust manifold, some modifications to the exhaust, and oil lines. I wouldn't think that would cost $5000.

Re: turbocharged 350?

Just find someone with a tube bender and a welder (if you don't have one) and go for it.

Just practice quite a bit first....and you'll get the hang of it pretty fast.
