91 2.5lt FPR

Does my 1991 s10 have a spring where the fuel pressure regulator goes?? And if so would it being weak cause it not to push enough gas to start it?

fuel injected or carb? do a fuel pressure check. the spring is on the inside of fpr housing. i really dont see that spring being weak. have you changed fuel filter? or done a tune up?

I had it replaced along with about 500 dollars worth of other stuff and when we checked it after seeing a diagram in a book we found out the spring is missing alltogether.....

It was the spring after all..over $500.00 worth of parts including a new computer and it was the spring...my truck is a 2.5lt fuel injection so if anyone has one that just doesn't seem to be getting enough gas at startup check the pressure regulator and make sure your spring isn't broke...to replace from dealer you have to buy a kit and it is about $200.00..
