T/A Racecar

Here's another more realistic style toon of an 80's Saleen Trans Am racer.

(Team trailer in the background.)

Re: T/A Racecar

Looks really cool. I like the ground. One thing I noticed was the undershadow of the car. Could you make it fade out a bit?

Re: T/A Racecar

Thanks, I'll play around with the shadow.
It does have a very hard edge line, see it I can soften it a little.

Well, because it wasn't done as a photo-realistic style design.
Made changes to the proportions, dropped lots of details, just didn't exaggerrate the image as much as I normally draw toons.

The car is drawn a little longer and flater than the real one

Re: T/A Racecar

HI Blip,

Your work looks great.

I am not sure about the composition.
Is the car or the building the focus?
I think it would be better to have the car enlarged and more centered.

Can I post a mod of your work?

Thx

al

Re: T/A Racecar

Al, please go ahead with your version.
I'm here to learn.
Do you want me to send you the original .xlr file?

Also, just to prove that I didn't get this design to work right--it's the team race trailer in the background, not a building.
Should have put more detail into the trailer.

Re: T/A Racecar

Al, thanks.
A bigger car image gives it better balance and focus.

Squaring out the edges looks nicer too.
