hks turbo timer auto lock question

i just installed to hks type 1 turbo timers in my wrx sedan and my moms wrx wagon....while the timer is counting down with the key removed, my car will lock itself, but my mothers wont until the timer is done counting and the car is off. Hers was working fine when i did it and all the wiring is still good, no loose connections or anything. Anyone have any ideas as to what it may be?

How is the locking mechanism in any way related to the timer? You must have something crossed up somewhere.

thats what i said it was working when i first did it now its not so idk i checked all the wiring its all good....

Did you check all the lock wiring?

but why would it work when the timer turns off? it has nothing to do with those wires so i dont know why it would affect it only while the timer is running

Well, if the lock wires are somehow being shorted out when the turbo timer is running power, they wouldn't function as a locking mechanism. Then, when the timer is turned off, the timer circuit is open and thus the lock wires work again because there's no short.
