ehh, your just lucky I wassnt there to take the victory from ya! j/k

Awsome win bro, is this your first auto show? seriously dude, if you've ever wanted a really good sponsorship now is the time to act. get the pics from the websites, if you still have a copy of the reciept from the fee to enter the show then hang on to it. If you can tape the episode on NopiTv with your car in it that would help too. just do two more shows and who care if you win or not, you already won Nopi which is huge! get all that and submit it along with the sponsor applications...... you'll be so in bro!

and as you manager I am entitled to 13% so keep that in mind.

Booyaah

Not to burst your bubble but winning this one Nopi award in strictly the Dodge class is by no means any guarantee of sponsors. How many other cars were in your class specifically? Beating 10 cars or so at one event isn't going to really turn any businesses' heads. Win 3 or 4 at some shows with large turnouts (or maybe even place in an overall class) and then you'll really be playing with some bigger balls. Plus, keep adding stuff, and the more uniqe and custom the parts are, the better your chances. There was just a thread on 3si recently about this too. It's alot harder than you may think to get sponsors (not saying it can't be done or that your car can't get any, just that's it's a tough thing to pull off).

That said, nice win man. I'd say lose that wing, but that's just me Kee p up the good work.

P.S. Isn't "real nice neons " kind of an oxy-moron?

Dont listen to Im2fast4U! in fact I'm making that a rule now! anyone caught talking to him will be banned. THIS I COMMAND! nah j/k ........no but seriously dont talk to him...no no j/k......no but seriously dont let him discourage you.

NOPI is big even if its an award in "best black neon with 14" rims category from the 42653 zip" who gives a crap, its still NOPI!
and while yes companies are not giving sponsorships away the fact is they still have a selective process.
Companies like Carbon-creations and 5Zigen still recieve about 40 applications for sponsorship a day!
Half of those are from completely stock cars and then there is the "I have a muffler and wing and unpainted body kit, I am sooo modded!"

Sponsorship agent have to painfully go through them and stamp "REJECT" on a bunch of applications weekly. When you submit the fact that you are an active participant then you catch thier attention. when they read you actually won an event then they become really interested, when they read it was at NOPI and it was in a mag and it was on tv and its all over the net then they will pick up the phone and call you. why am I so sure you will get sponsored? when was the last time you saw a 3S on a mag? (besides the Pit Road M GTO) the fact is the rareness of you car will further peak thier interest. in a world where the Civic is as abundant as the cockroach, the 240sx is the new Civic and the EVO is a dime a dozen the 3s is king.

I did a short post on how I got my cars sponsored some time ago. its in the stickies. check it out. as for what companies to choose, well go crazy check out all the companies that peak your interest, the more applications you submit the better the chance someone will call.

That's actually a good point supporting what I was saying. The fact that you drive a 3S may actually hurt you (keep in mind, this is more for performance sponsors than cosmetic/audio/etc sponsors). A company isn't going to just give you money and parts in exhange for their name being on your car. They expect returns and added sales based on your advertising. But the problem is that since you drive a car with a fairly small (relatively speaking) fan/owner base, the parts on your car don't appeal/apply to as many people. With civics, like you said, they're everywhere and have a huge following. So when a company puts it's name and parts on some nice civic, that huge following will see the parts and want to get them for their own car, thus increasing sales for the company. With a 3S, there just isn't that much of a large "cult" following. You're just working to a smaller audience so there are less people who are going to see your car and say, "oh I want that for my 3000.. I'm gonna order it from that company right away"... because there are simply less people with 3000s (and the number is shrinking too).

That said, if you're talking cosmetic, audio or just more generalized/generic stuff, then the rarity of the car might help (which will draw more attention, a 4000watt stereo in a 4 door civic or the same stereo in en exotic looking sports car? exactly). Basically, stuff that's in no way really car-specific will be alot easier to get sponsors for/from than parts geared towards your car specifically (the more performance geared stuff). Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it's not possible, I'm just saying it might not be as easy as some would think.

Or you can just not listen or talk to me

I'm glad you took it in good humor.

well yes, very good point you made there. I do agree the rareness is a double edge dagger but still you have to try! there is pleanty of universal stuff out there you can get. Audio, interior, exterior, even some performance parts. some sponsors like Importfan.com will hook you up with thier stuff , maybe not to get the 3s people to look, but just to get the name out on the market.
there are alot of small-time companies with tons of potential out there, all they want is thier company logo shown off at an event. weather its on a Civic or a VW Eurobus they just want the publicity. you wont get a 20K sponsorship right away but you gotta start somewhere right?

Edit: I just took a close look at that second pic. look at the cars around him. there are a bunch of stupid looking cars that dont belong in a car show. there is a silver Nissan Altima with lambo doors and apparently nothing else.....still on stock rims. in the back row, first car, a silver Focus....It might have rims but nothing more. What the hell is that right of him? a Blazer? Bottom row, black WRX.....boring. The two Scion xBs, one is kitted, on rims and with stickers... the other looks completely stock and far too dropped.
If I where a scout, I'd be horrified at some of the cars there. they belong in the parking lot not the show floor. this is why I think the stealth has so much more potential then some of the competition there.
