Please Help Me

I have a 1992 Ford Ranger 4X4 With a V6 Today it started having a load squeal and a knock comming from the front end. Does anyone know what this is. and is it going to cost alot to fix. I just got the truck about 6 weeks ago. Thanks for any help

The squeal is probably from your belts. Just tighten it up and it should stop. The knocking, if it's more of a ticking, is probably just a lifter or two rattling under the valve cover. Check your oil, as well as any known date of last oil change. You may be just a little low, or it may be time for a change. If there isn't an oil change sticker, check the color of your oil. If it's very dark brown to black, it's time for a change. Since you just got it, I'd recommend the "Basic backyard generic tune up" anyway, which is oil & filter change, air filter change, new spark plugs (and depending on what they look like, plug wires, cap, and rotor), and a check on all vital fluids (clutch, brake, power steering fluids).

It's Seems That It Was Just The Brakes. I Replaced Them And Everything Seems Fine Now.

well i thought it fixed the problem. today it came back i was told it was the wheel bearings but they are new. they was put in by a ford dealer 2 weeks before i got the truck. anyone have this problem??

ok now im told it could be the Ball Joints. How can i be for sure that it's the ball joints and how hard is it to fix. thanks for any help....

Jack up the truck and grab the top and bottom of the tire. Jerk it back and forth and listen/feel for slop. If they are bad, you can usually borrow the puller you need from Autozone or OReilly.

Well after about killing myself Sunday night i have fixed my problem. it was the inner bearings. i have to get a spindle out of the junk yard and new bearings. it's no fun having you front wheel lock up on you going 35 down the road. It's all better now. and the truck is back on the road for now..............until next time thanks for all the help.
