need more info -

What year is the 3500? 4x4?
What year is the LT1, what is it out of and what do you have with it? Hopefully you have the entire wiring harness and computer if you're even thinking about this.

FYI this is gonna be a major pain in the ass...

Different wiring, different computers, different everything all together.... this isn't something you can do on a weekend. This swap would require weeks, if not months of careful research, planning, purchacing and fabrication of the required parts.

Dude, it'll be WAY cheaper to get a rebuilt 454. The LT1 wasen't designed to move a huge ass 1 ton truck, it was designed for light body camaros, corvettes and such.

I overlooked that it was a 1994 truck - post your info on the LT1's story.

Re: LT-1 into 94 3500HD

I have completed many swaps from bodys to frames . motors . Built race cars for years . The weakest part of my Game is the Electronics and computer control. If I don't use a 350 , I am looking at A Cummins diesel with a Allison trans .
The truck is a 2 wheel dr. dually 9 ft. reading bed wt. 10500 Lbs every day. and loves gas ( NUKE'M AND TAKE IT ALL)

IMO get one of the new crate 572's , that would be pretty sweet to stick in a 3500... 620 horse and enough torque to rip anything a new a-hole.

Re: LT-1 into 94 3500HD

I'd look into a diesel. They'll get much better fuel mileage (depending on what you go with) and obviously have plenty of torque to push the truck.

I think you'll have to put a ton of money and work into getting that 350 to make enough torque AND get good gas mileage....at the same time!!

A 572 in it? Ya, that would be different, but you can get a LOT more torque out of a diesel for the same amount of money (and get the better fuel mileage)
