APR wings

Hey guys, does anybody know what the 3M Adhesive Pad is for that comes with the APR V-Spec spoiler?

It looks like it is some kind of shock absorber for mounting the wing onto. Do you have to use them?

True ... it helps protect the holes from having water seep into it and preventing it from rusting ...

i dont think that's a shock absorber. i believe that it makes the wing adjustable up to about 40 degrees.
