Re: Tail Lights??

I've heard of people doing that. I don't know why they would be different.

Re: Tail Lights??

Yeah, they "don't work" because they're different. Some members here have done it, wait for them to respond.

Re: Tail Lights??

Okay. I have these in my truck, and after much searching, never found the plud modification. Theydo bolt right in, but you have th trim the holes the bulbs go into IF, and only if you use the 99-02 wiring harness. There is also another additional light at the bottom of these lights that the 99-02's do not have. I just plugged and siliconed this hole so no moisture got into it and left it alone. I personally like the look of the 03-05 lights much better and it was one of my favorite mods...expecially since the lights were free!!

Re: Tail Lights??

I have done this to my truck and I love it.

After much searching, I never found this so called "plug modification" you are speaking of. What I did find out, is you have to trim the bulb holes in the 03-05 light IF, and only IF you use the 99-02 wiring harness. The 03 -05 lights also have an additional bulb hole in the bottom of the light that the 99-02 do not have. I just plugged and siliconed this hole to prevent any moisture from getting in and left it alone.
This so far has been my favorite mod b/c I love the way the lights look and they were free!!

Re: Tail Lights??

Sorry for the double post earlier...

I looked on e-bay for some and they're are some good deals out there. Then I looked at a couple of body shops and found a couple, but they were cracked. Also found an AWESOME deal on some at a swap meet AFTER I had already gotten mine. Also another place I looked, if you have anything like this close to you is....A company that gets new trucks, removes the factory beds and installs the work-bodys. They wanted about $125 for both lights and wiring harnesses. The only reason I got mine free is my buddy that had an '03 bought some altezzas for his truck and I wired some kind of horn he had bought up for him...the payment was his lights.
