fuel filter(s)?
what were they thinking not putting a replacable fuel filter on the 4.0L?
Has anyone installed an inline with any ease? what options do you have other than changing the fuel pump? This is my first Jeep vehicle. |

Re: fuel filter(s)?
I changed the fuel filter in my '94 and had no problems. Just get new hose clamps and be prepared to get a little gas on you. If I remember right, there was another small peice of the fuel line that I replaced at the same time. Also, have a bucket to drain it in once you get it off the vehicle... it holds a lot of gas.

Re: fuel filter(s)?
You didn't say the model. But you are right the newer model do not have a reoplaceable fuel filter. You can buy it, it is not cheap and you have to drop the tamk to replace it. But it is more than a fuel filter it is also the fuel pressure regulator. The model I am speaking of only has one fuel line, no return. the fuel pressure is regulated at the pump.

Re: fuel filter(s)?
sugarloafur, you are correct, there is a small rubber hose about 1'' long, it connects to the medal fuel line. Here is just a reminder, do not smoke while doing this. i know everybody knows this but im sure there is someone out there that has done it.
