Dude, that sucks. I had the same problem aswell. What i did was, since i have two maros, i took them off the one i don't drive and they held up. What i would do since you've bought three new ones would be to go to a junk/salvage yard and get some off of are fallen comrades. I'm pretty sure most of them our still good. I got my hood shocks from the yard and they are as good as new.

Re: rear hatch shocks keep going out

there is noting really that can affect the shocks... you either use your rear hatch a lot or you have just been getting bad replacements....

my recommendation, get a stick.. or a broken off golf club or something to hold that beast up.. you laugh now, but its less annoying than putting in new shocks every week.. lol

Its funny that you say that, becuase until i recently replaced my trunk shocks, i had a big ass stick riding in my trunk. Our hatches are heavy as hell!

Ever had the hood shocks go out, that hood is heavier than the stupid hatch, if that thing lands on you with you under it, you've definitely lost a limb.

The hood on my 84 berlinetta is way heavier than the hood and hatch on my 87 iroc. The shocks gave out one the hood of the 84 once... but i didn't let it smash my head into the motor, i think that would of been gameover. That hood is made out of pure steel.

At least the broom and golf club stores won't go out of buisness as long as there are camaro's with hood shocks... [IMG][/IMG]

ROFLOL!! You know, using that stick on my hood(those shocks went bad on the iroc aswell, just recently swap them) warped it after a certain period of time, took forever to get back to even.

You must have had the stick under the hood for a long time because it's not easy to warp steel. I use a broom, but not for long periods...

Yeah, everytime i needed to get under the hood, i used that damn stick, and i was underthere alot. Eventually i went to the junkyard and snatched some off of an injured maro's that still had some juice in them, put them on and they work fine.
