Re: Maft And Maf Problem???

Ok... First off what is your car. Year, Model, Mods and so on.Do you have any sort of fuel controller or are you using the translator to control your fuel curve? If you are only using the translator then list all of the settings you have.

Base = ?
Idle = ?
Mid = ?
WOT = ?

And do you have a 3" or a 3.5" maf? Is the maf between the BOV and the throttle body or are you recirculating?

Re: Maft And Maf Problem???

the 3 inch GM MAF is between the throttle body and the BOV.. i am currently using the newest version MAFT to controll the fuel curve. the settings are very lean on WOT and MID idle is 0 and base is negative 1 click idk the exact numbers for the WOT and MID but hey are both very lean i was hitting fuel cut unless i kept it there. the BOV is venting to the atmos. the modds are the maf, the maft, 1g throttle body***side note--can having the 1g 3 pin TPS mess anything up?**** 1g bov, ported big 16g turbo w/larger wastegate flapper, ported exhaust mani, RRE hacker tweaker kit, intake with HKS non-foam filter, Apexi' turbo timer, gauges, Quicktime Exhaust cutout (currently broken/sealed shut for now). I havea walbro 255 hi pressure pump waitin to go in but im a little low on cash and i dont want to try that one myself.... there arent any boost leaks that i can find, i've put the new cardboard type gaskets on the throttle body...its really late im a litle delirious at this point please poke and prod at my response if you need anymore info thanks

Re: Maft And Maf Problem???

I'm too tired to get into the meat of this problem, but you definitely need a 2g TPS on a 2G car, since the 1g TPS doesnt include the throttle closed switch (thats what the 4th wire is on the 2g sensor ) It will only affect idle though, not WOT.

Re: Maft And Maf Problem???

Your base setting should be set to "2" which is 2 clicks to the right on the base knob. You should have the rest of them set at 0 seeing you dont have larger injectors to compinsate for. Find a logger and make sure your fuel trims are as close to 0 as possible. If the are higher then you are too lean, if they are lower then you are too rich. Just play with it until everything is good.\

BTW: If you need some 550 injectors I have some forsale... PM me if your interested!

Re: Maft And Maf Problem???

i ran it on "0" when i first installed it and the car ran like total shit i...the more towards zero i go the more i seem to hit fuel cut its really wierd... its runs strong the way i have it set now it just seems like the mid throttle is messed up cant a broken EGR screw things up pretty badly?

well honestly you gotta toy around with it.. having a wide band O2 set-up is all you need tp perfectly tune it but they are $$$... all i did was run it rich and slowly lean it out till i was able to hit 7200 without fuel cut on the way. if ur not too sure or scared to try that way get a local shop that does dyno tuning to do it they use the laptop and put wide band sensors in your tailpipe usually
