aftermarket remotes
I have a 98 blazer LT 4wd 4.3. When i boughtthe truck it only came wit the main key and no remote. Ive seen remotes on e-bay that claim to work with my year. how can i tell if they will? i havea sensor directly in the middle of my dash that i have no idea what its for, could that bethe remote sensor? please tell me if they would work, i want a remoe. thanks!

Check the option label in the glove box. If it has AU0, it came with keyless entry, and you just has to get the correct transmitters and program.

Yeah, there's probably a Passlock 2 type Security on yours considering it's a 98 and my 99 had the same problem. The bypass is pretty much acting like the key without the key. The module runs bout $50, but don't quote me on that. I think ebay has a couple from time to time for less. It's a Directed 555L PassLock 2. Programing is relatively easy as long as the brain isn't locked. If it's a Viper then you need them to do it cause of the "Code Hopping" feature.
