Re: aftermarket remotes

Check the option label in the glove box. If it has AU0, it came with keyless entry, and you just has to get the correct transmitters and program.

It has prbably been posted but how hard is it to reprogram? Also I heard to ad a automatic starter and an aftermarket alarm they need to bypass the onboard security features and jumps the install price like another $75! Am I correct? Anyone heard of this?

Yeah, there's probably a Passlock 2 type Security on yours considering it's a 98 and my 99 had the same problem. The bypass is pretty much acting like the key without the key. The module runs bout $50, but don't quote me on that. I think ebay has a couple from time to time for less. It's a Directed 555L PassLock 2. Programing is relatively easy as long as the brain isn't locked. If it's a Viper then you need them to do it cause of the "Code Hopping" feature.
