may get an 89

hey im going to look at an 89 nissan pickup with the z24 engine in it and i was wondering what the difference between this truck and the early 90's hardbodys. is the engine bay setup the same way? like does it use the same mounts as a ka24? because id like to put an sr20det or a ca18det into it. Of course itll be sitting pretty close tyo the ground too.

ok here's the deal from what i can tell:

the z24 usues the same motor mounts as the KA but dont qhoute me on that one just yet. and the only really big thing you have to do to drop an sr20 in there is dent the firewall some to make it fit. ive been trying to figure the same shit out as you as i have an 99 with the z24.

but a piece of advice, if you arent gonna do the swap fairly quickly, the z24 is a pos motor that is nothing but headaches!! i mean 8 plugs and 4 cylinders?!?!?!!?

p.s. dont know about any changes involved with dropping it, if tht'll affect the swap or not, or how the swap affects bagging the truck, id just suggest a 4-link in the back if you do bag it, so you can put some of the power to the tarmac.
