Intake Installation Question
I just bought an intake from my friend and since I didn't feel like paying to have it installed, I figured I'd do it myself. When I was installing it, I noticed several hoses that ran to other parts of the engine bay. Two of them go to the other side to a little cylinder with what looks like an electronic sensor, the other goes to a little box under the original intake with some kind of adjustable valve. I put in the new intake but left all the other hoses. I took out the box under the original intake but left the valve. Is it ok to take out these other hoses? I don't want to mess up my car so I'm asking on here before I do anything.

Re: Intake Installation Question
just make sure the oxygen sensors are hooked up or else you'll run into problems - intake should have holes for some of the hoses

Re: Intake Installation Question
The o2 sensors are in the exhaust...so I assume you mean intake temp sensor or air flow sensor.
But anyway, most intakes account for all the necessary hoses and have places to connect them. You shouldn't just leave hoses off, or you will have vacuum leaks. What year car is yours, and what year was the intake made for, and are you sure your installing it correctly?
