Dingoblue rocks - but it's closing down. ihug is shit as is froggy as far as connects are concerned and Optus and Telstra are a rip off for what they offer.

The best I've seen for under 30bucks a month is iprimus www.iprimus.com.au as it has unlimited time and downloads (with a cut off after 4 hours its only drawback). Most people I've spoken to have zero issues with it so I guess that's where I'm going to move to.

Thanks...yeah I've heard about ihug being pretty crappy, my friend has it, and especially at night....connection is always failing.

AOL have this offer of 2 months free access, and its 24.95 a month unlimited hours....anyone heard any good or bad things about them.

I'll check out that website, thanks

I like Optus. Their premium guarantees none of the abovementioned probs.

Froggy is cheap and has just been bought out. It has bad cases of packet loss although pings to it's POPs are ok. I'm not putting it down, just saying it isn't as good as other ISPs.

Q - AOL is the devil. It is seriously more heartache than good. It is extremely unreliable and has very poor bandwidth.

Oz, Optus is ok if you can afford it, but Q is looking for dial-up and the Optus plans are poor (as are Telsra's) compared to the smaller ISPs. Their cable is great, but overpriced (as is Telstra's) and I doubt Q wants to buy cable for her dad

From memory the plan we're on is unlimited downloads, 4 hour session limits (never been disconnected - even overnight. Guaranteed immediate redial) and about $25-$30/month

Checked it out...

Eiterh $27.95 for unlimited hours..and 350 MB downloads

or the netrollover 120...same price...120 hours, and unlimited downloads....

Hmmm...gotta figure out how much we'd use a month....

with the rollover, you can roll your unused hours over for up to 3 months...which is pretty good.

Heaps Q, but I've been pretty thorough in looking for ISPs for the last month or so and have asked a lot of Qs on other forums.

iprimus seems the best of the lot to me - short of getting cable, and I have better things to spend my money on
