Unhappy yet another starting problem - 1996 4.0

I replaced the starter this morning, it has been having problems starting all week, took it to a battery place, battery and charging all checked out fine. Put new starter in, cranked right up. About an hour later, I left in it, cranked just fine again, but after driving about 10 minutes, i heard a weird buzzing noise from under the hood, the windshield wipers hesitated, then the whole thing went dead, while driving. Now the lights, buzzers, etc. all come on, but when i turn the key, nothing happens. I checked all the connections on the starter, they are fine, battery connections fine, all fuses, fine. Help! I don't know where to go, it has to be a related problem, but the starter has nothing to do while the jeep is running, right?

Try wiggling the shift lever, could be the NSS switch Neutral saftey switch. It stops you from starting jeep while it is in gear. Check the starter relay inside power box behind battery pass. side. turn lid over to see which one it is. dale

I tried the shifter thing, neutral, etc. no luck. I pulled the starter relay out and looked at it, seems ok, but I'm not sure what to look for.

I just went out to try to crank it again and now everything is dead, no lights or anything, so I guess somehing drained the battery over night. Ghosts maybe, refueling?
