I've seen those Eurospec signs on regular Golfs before but I havn't seen any on GTI's. Check under your hood! If you got a 16v 2.0L engine, then it most likely is and it puts out about 150 stock hp. If it doesn't say anything on the engine, you got yourself a regular 8v 2.0L GTI (same engine as they put in the Golf/Jetta GL/GLS) and you got about 115 stock hp! Nothing special, but still better pick up than the 1.8 8v! I have seen guys with the 16v 2.0 GTI's with some mods to the ECU keeping up with the stock corrado VR6! With some mods, you can kick some good power out of the 16v!

Re: EuroSpec ???

If it's a Eurospec VR6 then you might have a 2.9L VR6. If that's the case then congratulations to you. You have a great engine platform to build from.
