Question tire question

Hi, newbie here. I picked up my pretty Tib on Christmas Eve. I hadn't even taken it for a test drive, I just fell in love with it on the lot. It was used with less then 10K on the odometer. Of course, after I got it home, I noticed a dent in on the wheel. I took it back and they said as long as the wheel wasn't bent, everything is fine. The previous owner must have hit a pothole (North Jersey, go figure)! Anyway, now I have bubbles on both front sidewalls - they need to be replaced.
My question is, should I be looking for a different tire or stick with the Michelin 215/45R17? I do both highway and rural driving. I do drive fast but don't race. I found a good price on the original tire, but if they're problematic I'd rather change to a different type now.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Brandy

Re: tire question

2004 GT 2.7L V6 6-Speed - (Tidal Wave) - I just couldn't pass it up!
I never bought a car froma dealership before, new or used. I'm learning a lot after the fact. The tires also read MXM4 if that means anything.

Re: tire question

If I were you I'd examine at least the other front tires, and replace them as a pair. That way you know just how many miles you have up front etc. And as far as getting the Pilot Sports, shop around you could probably find some decent tires for cheaper, like say some new Hankook's. For some reason Hankook is making some very nice tires these days

I ended up getting BF Goodrich tires yesterday morning. The guy says they are the same as the Michelins - the same company. I don't believe that, but what do I know? The bubbles scared me, I needed to have them replaced. I purchased a set for the front and will rotate them until I have a new matched set.
Thank you for your help, I didn't know where to go for information. A girl in a service shop is just asking to be overcharged!
