99 WINDSTAR LX FUSE QUESTION: WHY IS THE FUSE PANEL SO DIFFERENT FOR FUSE #6?? I WAS ABLE TO PUT A REGULAR MINI-TYPE FUSE IN, BUT IT WAS WAY DEEP WITHIN A "LONG SQUARE CHANNEL" ON THE FUSE PANEL. IS THERE A SPECIAL TYPE OF FUSE FOR THIS #6 SLOT? I had to use needle nose pliers to push it in, and I pity the guy who ever has to remove it. It must be an INCH in there!!
Sorry, this question is related to my previous thread but I wanted to have a separate subject header for this topic instead of adding it to that thread. |

Re: Why Is The Fuse Panel So Different For Fuse #6??
Fuse #6 is supposed to have a special plastic clip "handle" that allows fuse #6 to be pulled out slightly into a disconnected position. The glovebox handbook explains that it is to be pulled into this position for periods of extended parking.
Supposedly helps prevent battery death during such periods. |

Thank you, "12 ounce". But I have no glovebox manual and the fuse is missing. Auto parts store or Dealer? What size fuse please?

See if you can open up the following and print out your glove box manual ... its a flaky site, sometimes it works just fine, sometimes not:
