Exhaust Question

I have a 96 GT that has stock (6) cat converters on the H-Pipe. I've noticed that Bassani pipes with 2 cats still use the four stock O2 sensors in factory locations. Question is this...Can I simply cut out four of the six stock converters and not have any Check Engine Light problems? Seems to be the same thing, I just don't see the need for the extra 4 cats....

The first two cats are PRECATS which cleans up the exhaust when cold, the last 4 are after cats than clean up afterwards..........

IT would be much better to just buy a aftermarket pipe, and swap them, because come smog time.......your gonna be SOL in some states.

Too late! Did it yesterday afternoon...Car seems to have much better throttle response, and SOUNDS much better....unfortunately, the MIL did come on after about 50 miles of driving, so I guess I'll purchase the MIL eliminators this weekend and install them....

Nope, DFW, Texas, and I've got a friend who runs an inspection station, so shouldn't be a problem.
