Peter Farrell's legendary IMSA championship #77 RX7. Very fast 1993 Mazda RX7 R1 built by Peter Farrell Supercars with sponsorship from Shell for the IMSA ESS/GrandAm series (Grand Sport class).
Ported 13B-REW twin-turbo rotary engine with one-off Mazda Motorsports ECU makes 350HP at the wheels at 15PSI. The car weighs only 2600LB wet with 50/50 weight distribution. Equipped with 6-point cage with driver-side door bars built by Mitch Piper. ATL 22-gallon fuel cell with dual fuel pumps and 1-quart surge tank. Setup for pitstop refueling with GrandAm Cup legal dry-break. Thanks to its bulletproof fuel system and relatively low boost levels, the car is surprisingly reliable. Being designed for endurance racing, the ECU is programmed conservatively enough to keep the motor running rich at all times, and the cooling system is easily capable of keeping temps at a reasonable level. There is very little lag, thanks to the twin-turbo setup. Well-sorted, thoroughly developed and fully prepared for SCCA competition. Current SCCA logbook in ITE, all safety equipment up to date. Perfect for anyone who wants to show up and win in SCCA ITE sprint race or endurance events, and also makes an excellent track day car. Could be easily converted for street use if desired. Very fast, very reliable and low-maintenance. Completely ready to race! - 350HP at the wheels, 2600LB wet with 50/50 weight distribution. - Ported 13B-REW twin-turbo rotary engine. - One-off Mazda Motorsports ECU (8000RPM redline and maps to 15PSI). - Manual boost control, but already wired for electronic boost controller (Apex S-AVCR). - PFS intercooler. - PFS intake system with intercooler ducting. - Lightened flywheel. - Centerforce dual friction clutch. - Mazda Motorsports aluminum radiator. - Dual oil coolers. - Custom 3" race exhaust with resonator. - ATL 22-gallon fuel cell mounted to IMSA specs (far exceeds requirements for club racing, see photos). - Proper fuel cell ventilation, including discriminator valve. - Dual fuel pumps, drawing from pickups at both rear corners of the cell. - 1-quart external surge tank. - GrandAm Cup legal dry-break adapter for pitstop refueling. - Factory calipers and rotors (per IMSA rules) with stainless braided lines and Hawk Blue pads. Very capable brake system. - Koni adjustable shocks with Eibach springs. - 36mm hollow adjustable front swaybar. - Mazda Motorsports adjustable rear swaybar. - Hardened wheel studs and lugnuts. - Fully-welded 6-point 1.75" cage with door bars, built by Mitch Piper. - Cage integral camera mount. - Cobra fiberglass seat on sliding mounts. - I/O Port adjustable seat back brace. - Simpson 3" 6-point cam-lock harness. - G-Force mesh window net. - Personal Endurance steering wheel with quick-release hub. - 6-post kill switch (cuts battery, alternator, and fuel pumps). - Fire extinguisher with cage mount. - Many more upgrades/modifications, too many to list. - Completely prepared for SCCA competition. The car is in great shape. It's been very well taken care of, and it's extremely fast. Why so quick to flame, ghostrx7?

The car has some wear and tear, but really not that much for a racecar. It's in better shape than some 3rd gen street cars I've seen. The chassis is very stiff (thanks to the cage), suspension geometry is perfect, engine fires right up and runs smoothly, and the trans is smooth and noiseless. The turbos are only a few years old and in good shape. And it pulls like a bat outta hell!

Re: FS @ eBay: Peter Farrell Supercars IMSA #77 1993 Mazda RX7 R1 Racecar
i just see it at 11500 reserve not met with 4 days left. which means its gonna go up alot. u could get a mint 94 for like 16500, but like i said, i have to realize that its a race car, not a street car. if i was rich, it'd be a hell of a toy!sorry if i was bein azzhole.
