hyundai makes cheap parts

I was in my car putting the rca wires in for my sub when i bumped my center consoles compartment door, I only tapped the thing and it snapped right off! (it was open) Did you know that there arent even any hinges holding this thing on? Its just a cheap peice of plastic that bends.. hard to describe. Take a peice of paper and bend it in half, thats pretty much all it is except its plastic. I cant belive how cheaply made this part is. I broke off the same door when i had a monte carlo, and I was siting in the drivers seat, didnt realize i had the door open, and i was pulling something out of the backseat while leaning on the door. I had to lean really hard for that thing to snap, and it actually had hinges. needless to say i was super pissed that this was the 2nd time i had done this. And Ill bet that hyundai would charge a good $150 to get a new one. Hah, my friend told me to goto menards and buy a regular door hinge and paint it to match my interior. lol.

Korean cars aren't cheaper because of reduced labor costs, but because the companies cut corners on initial part quality.

Not like you dropped a screwdriver on the engine and the block cracked. It is thin cheap plastic, that is used in the interior of damn near everything these days. Go to your local Chevy dealer, it isn't much better there. But yes it IS a Hyundai, whattya want?
