Advice Pls.

Hey guys,

Why is it that the 2000+ Kia Rios/Sephia's are so cheap(used)? What is the common problem with this car?

I'm in the market for a car and I'm coming across Kia's for under $5000 for a used one and it looks to be in mint shape.

Thanks

they are inexpensive cars, that's all. If you do your maintenance will probably last as long as any other car. I know people with 140,000 on a 2000 sephia and 172,000 on a 98 sportage (both bought new & maintained pretty good) with no major repairs yet. you'll always have the little stuff here and there but that's w/ any car.

Re: Advice Pls.

New cars, they still loose value very rapidly. The only bad thing I can say for them comes from my friend who is an auto damage adjuster, "If it's in a wreck, expect us to total it, and don't expect to get much. Basically, don't get hit."

But for a used car, I think you can't really beat it since your buying it cheap already. Most common problems I am aware of are exterior door handles sometimes breaking and a weak spring on the hatchback latch of the spectras. Also a more performance tuned transmission so kinda shoddy gas mileage for a small 4cyl.

my experience w/a kia

i bought my 95 kia sephia 4-dorr for about 3,300 7 years ago and just now its developing problems.its been an awesome car and ran great, but when one thing went bad,it all went bad. and to fix any repair, you either have to do it yourself or pay someone to fleece you to fix it. but they are great cars for the money.good luck.....
