fuel pump

hello

do you think it is possible that if the fuel pump gives not enough pressure , the engine sputters, when I start it is ok for a few second and after is it bad. If I succeed to leave the place slowly with few acceleration it is limit
My car runs also with LPG and then no problems, but it start with fuel and after goes on LPG.

May be the fuel filter

Thank' s

Paul

Re: fuel pump

It's possible that you have a weak fuel pump or a clogged filter. The filter is easy to change, and if you haven't changed it recently it's not going to hurt to change it. The fuel pump is also easy to check the pressure on. The test port is on the rear fuel rail, just behind the power steering pump. There is suppose to be a black cap covering the "tire valve stem" like valve. I'd get a test guage and see what is happening.

When you first start it, it's possible that the pump is strong enough to prime the system, but not strong enough to keep the pressure up.
