barely 2000 miles but check engine light on

My wife's corolla is 4 months old with barely 2000 miles on it. This morning the check engine light came on. Autozone said that the trouble code was 'cylinder 4 misfires'. Can I take it to any dealer to have it fix? Will they work on the problem immediately or make me wait? My wife needs the car badly. If they cannot fix it in a day, will she be entittled to a free rental car? Thanks!

Take it in. It'll be covered under warranty. Can't guarantee that they'll fix it right away, but I'd imagine they'd give you a loaner.

Re: barely 2000 miles but check engine light on

3 weeks ago, I took the car to a dealership. They kept the car for almost 5 days and finally replaced the fuel injectors and the light stayed off until today. This morning I had to take it to the dealer again. This time the light even flashed intermittently! I have never had such a troublesome car before. What can I do as a consumer if they can not fix the problem?

I had some problems when I first got my corolla also just keep taking it in and give the dealers time to get things completely fixed and things will get straightened out. you may fair better than I did, I had to take my car in 12 times the first year but everything did get taken care of and its no problems to me now so hang in there it'll get better.
