'94 truck interior lights question

They don't come on at night when the door is open. Key in buzzer works fine though so both door switches are good. Plus they can be manually switched on with the dash dimmer roller switch.

Is there some sort of override ? I just got this truck but isn't it normal for the interior lights to come on when the door is open ?

Re: '94 truck interior lights question

mine is like that too. I think the connections in the door switches faded out because I used to be able to jiggle it and it would come on but now there is nothing

Re: '94 truck interior lights question

prginocx, probaly button sitdusa explained.

Benw, it is very common for the door pin switches to go out on GM trucks/SUV's. Easy to replace, and only about $3 to $4 at the dealership. If and/or when you go to replace them, I recommend taking your glove box out and reach your hand in there to push the switch out as you pull on it from the other side. Helps to wiggle it around from inside the dash while pushing out.Thats for the passanger side. Drivers Side, you can fish your hand around all the wiring and reach it fairly easily and do the same (push w/ one hand, pull with other). Once you po them out, then disconnect the harness, plug onto new one, and snap it back in. Done
