REMOVING EMISSIONS... i got lost?

I have an 86 iroc z28 with the 305 tpi automatic

i took off the air pump and the weird thing that had all the hoses connected to it just above the air pump. I am doing this cause i changed a head gasket and broke a few bolts on the emissions tubing that goes on the exaust. So i said f$&% it i dont even want it there so i dont want to replace it. its a real cow trying to get down in there to change plugz and so forth. I am puting bolts where the emissions tubing went into the exaust manifold so those r taken care of... now there are a few holes on the intake for hoses should i just plug those ones up? then there is a hose from the canister that used to run over there and there is a hole in the rocker arm cover am i suposed to run the vacuum line to hole in the rocker arm cover er what. I kinda got lost and would just like some help

thnx all

*shakes head and walks away*

note - im not trying to be a huge ass here, but if your gonna hack off the emissions stuff (which isnt nessesary and possibly is detrimental) at least do it with some level of finesse.

Re: REMOVING EMISSIONS... i got lost?

i dont know much about anything, but im pretty sure that hole in the "valve cover" is either for a pcv valve (Positive Crankcase Ventilation valve) or a valve cover breather. my guess is that if the hole is closer to the front of the valve cover its a pcv, if its towards the back its a breather. just a guess thought.

might be for oil.

Re: REMOVING EMISSIONS... i got lost?

black one is an 89 RS with a TBI 305 that i bought for 3000 and fully restored only to have it get totalled by a lady in a lincoln. made out like a bandit though, insurance gave me 3700 bucks for it. bought it back for 250 bucks. fixed it for around 1000 bucks

used 2300 of the left over money to by the red one, a fully optioned out 89 IROC, TPI 350, Borg Warner 9 bolt rear end, rear disk brakes, power everything, only option it didnt have was the rear window defogger.

but now the RS is on jackstands again cuz i wrecked her on a backroad thanks to a deer, so i gotta fix her and sell her so i can get back to resto-modifying the IROC.
