Question remote cable on stock stereo

Ive installed an amp in my 2001 tahoe and cant figure out which cable on the back of the harness is the remote cable, is it the blue one? There are no RCA jacks on the back of the stereo either so could i use the wires on the stock sub to hook to my RCA cables? Currently I have the remote cable hooked to the fuse in my fuse box for the radio and the RCA cables hooked up as formentioned and Im blowing the fuses in my amp Im very confused!!!???Any replies would be greatly appreciated.

Re: remote cable on stock stereo

Well, you should be able to either use the pink wire behind the stereo for the amp turn on or go to the amp itself and probe for the wire that turns on with the radio.

You'll need to get the pre-amp wires on the sub if you are trying to hook it up that way. Also, not sure if the wires going to the amp are low level anyway. You should use this http://www.tune-town.com/installatio...t_reducers.asp

or something like it.

BTW, what brand and model of stuff are you trying to use anyways?
