96 Grand Voyager, Key wont turn / wont start
I'm having trouble with my 96 Plymouth Grand Voyager SE.
I turn the key and it doesn't seem to turn completely. I'm not completely sure, actually. I turn the key lights for the dash turn on, but the lights to the radio do not, and, of course, it doesn't try to start. The lock feels funny, but again, it might not be something I noticed before. I bought a new ignition lock to see if this was the problem, however I can not remove the one that is currently installed. I have: 1) Removed the collumn shroud 2) Inserted the key. 3) Turned clockwise as far as possible 4) Pressed the retaining tab. The retaining tab doesn't look like it's going all the way in, it does move but I just can't pull the existing lock. Does the ignition switch need to be removed as well before installing the ignition lock? |
