450W amp??
Hi.
I've got a $500 budget for amp/sub/adapters/wiring, etc, and i started looking at these things to put a sub system in my mazda3: Power Acoustik A1000DB amp - $200, runs 450w RMS @4ohm Ascendant Audio Atlas15" sub - $160, runs 300wRMS @40hm The atlas is definite, but I need to know if this is a good amp for SQL, and also if there's anything else i'll need in the way of crossovers, wire kits basically any other crap that i'd need to install the sub and amp. I know I will need something that can convert speaker wire signal into a RCA signal (which I assume is higher wattage), because I'm just tapping the signal out of my rear speaker wires. Any advice? thanks!

Re: 450W amp??
they make converters, but the problem with them is that the shitty amp in the head unit (especially stock HU) itroduces alot of unneeded distortion...
that amp should suffice. i doubt it is doing 450w but still, go easy on the gains or use a voltmeter.... |
