1999 Taurus transmission
I have a 1999 Taurus SE Wagon that has an intermittent transmission problem. It works fine the great majority of the time but every once in a while, from a stop, while trying to accelerate, the engine will rev but the car will barely move like the transmission is drastically slipping. If I shut off the engine and restart it, then it goes fine as if nothing is wrong. As these transmissions are electronically controlled, it seems to me that shutting off the engine equates to resetting the commputer or PCM, or however these are controlled. Any ideas?

Re: 1999 Taurus transmission
A bad shift soilnoid could be the problem. Have your car checked with a transmission scanner, at your local Ford Dealer.
