96 SC1 speaker question

I know which speakers will currently fit in my car, thanks to Crutchfield, now my question is this. Is it possible to fit 6x9's in the panels in the back seat? I know that they would have to be cut, presumably it wouldn't be that difficult if I get a template, but I don't know that the depth would be enough. Also how would I go about re-wiring so that my rear deck speakers still work? I could tie into the rear deck wires but I thought it'd be a little better if new wires were run, it's just that I'm not sure how to go about doing it.

As a side question does anyone know the stock HP on the 96 SC1's?

In mine, the speakers are fit in metal, if you dont mind cuttin through metal it doesn't seem like depth is going to be a problem,
As for wiring them up, get a head unit that supports pre amp out and an amp, then wire the 6 x 9s up to the amp (along with other speakers), or else you cant have the stock speakers going, you'd be splittin the voltage of the two stock speakers to four, and doubling the resistance, 1/2 voltage, and x 4 resistance = bad sound, and there are not spare speaker wires on the back of your head unit to run new wires to,
I have 6.5s wired up and hung below the stock speakers (see pic below)

off topic: Haven't used this site before, but it shows the 1996 SC1 has 100HP Specs

for the most part stock HP for Saturn's
SOHCs are 100
DOHCs are 124

individual motors vary slightly, so do individual runs of the same motor (thats why they do 3 runs on the dyno...)

Re: 96 SC1 speaker question

Saw someone selling adapter brackets on e-bay 4 cheap. Not sure if this applies to your question but thought it be worth a look.
