s10 2.2 to 4.3 engine swap

I have a 2000 Chevy S10 Xtreme 2.2l 4 cyl. engine. I dont know what I got myself into getting this truck. I was having a problem with tickets with my 2000 Mustang GT, so I had to get out of it. I thought that getting a 4cyl. would keep me out of trouble, it did. Now I want more power before I fall asleep. My wife thinks I should just buy another truck but I think I should just try to swap in the 4.3l V6. I would rather put money into this truck that is already paid off than pay a down payment and get more monthly payments. Well anyway could someone help me with this info, I have looked around but have not found much info. I would like to know how hard the swap is, if it bolts right in, do I need to change the tranny, driveshaft, rear end? Any info would help, I would like to get this done before summer. Thanks

I don't want to advertise for anyone, but check out advanced adaptors. If you read between the lines you can figure out what you need and find most of the parts in the wrecker
The 4.3L is basicly the same conversion as the v8, including the same transmission

No the frame mounts just bolt on, as to the engine sides

Re: s10 2.2 to 4.3 engine swap

Be sure to check the fuel injection system. If it has the CSPI, i wouldn't bother. The poppet in the injectors are faulty and end up causing more problems than good. If you can find one from California, it should be swapped out to the MFI, but still check the EGR and everything.

For the 96 and up "CSFI" injectors, it's not often they need to be swapped out to the newer style. The upgraded injectors are for replacing problamatic injectors only.

your better off just putting a V8 in there if your going to put that much time and effort into it.
